Northumbrian Voices is a truly magical evening bringing historic narratives from Northumbria and its music back to life. The performance is based on interviews and recordings Kathryn Tickell has made over the years with family members and with old shepherd musicians from whom she learnt the tunes and songs, including mouth organ player Will Atkinson and fiddler Willie Taylor. Three generations of musicians take part in this reflection of immensely strong communities, their music and collective stories.
