Murray Perahia is a true elder statesman of the piano, a musician of rare diligence who seems only to improve with age. Many of his vintage recordings are still cited as benchmarks today, even as his new ones are lauded as incisive and revelatory. Perahia’s recent concerts at the Barbican have been special evenings, coloured by a distinct atmosphere of radiant calm. For this recital, he brings his
distinct hallmarks of unfettered precision and respectful clarity.
