As a cellist himself, Jonathan Harvey offers a personal insight into the rich sonorities to be discovered in the string quartet ensemble. The Arditti Quartet perform the second quartet this evening and introduce the fourth quartet tomorrow afternoon. As part of the celebrations for Wolfgang Rihm's 60th birthday, the concert brings the new 13th quartet to London.
