Wagner Tristan und Isolde - Prelude and Liebestod
Peter Lieberson Neruda Songs (UK premiere)
Dvořák Symphony No 7 in D minor

BBC Symphony Orchestra
Jiří Belohlávek
conductor
Sarah Connolly mezzo-soprano

Passion, the pain of loss and enduring power of love connect the works in this beguiling programme. Dvořák’s Seventh Symphony, with its sense of profound tragedy, belongs to Jiří Belohlávek’s musical DNA. The BBC Symphony Orchestra’s Chief Conductor launches its 80th season with the UK premiere of Peter Lieberson’s achingly beautiful Neruda Songs sung by Sarah Connolly.
