What's on
‘I cannot write in verse, for I am no poet. I cannot arrange the parts of speech with such art as to produce effects of light and shade, for I am no painter. Even by signs and gestures I cannot express my thoughts and feelings, for I am no dancer. But I can do so by means of sounds, for I am a musician.’  Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mostly Mozart is the Barbican's vibrant summer festival of concerts, free foyer music, pre-concert events and fireworks celebrating the world's most popular composer.

This year's festival features Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra The Academy of St Martin in the Fields, sopranos Danielle de Niese and Alice Coote, 'cellist Claudio Bohorquez, harp and flute duo Sally Pryce and Adam Walker, Garsington Opera, clarinettist Martin Frost, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, violinist Leila Josefowicz, trumpeter Alison Balsom, The Classical Opera Company and pianists Leon McCawley and Steven Osborne.

And don't forget that Mostly Mozart is more than concerts, this year you can enjoy  free pre-concert foyer music, let us know who you think is the best in our Mozart vs Beethoven debate and vote for which overture you would like to hear played in the concert on Friday 17 July. Plus don't forget to join us on the opening and closing nights for free post-concert fireworks on the Barbican lakeside.
