Barbican - BFI Film Academy

Applications for the 2015/16 programme are now closed.

Join the next generation of filmmaking talent working with the Barbican and Eelyn Lee Productions to learn about filmmaking and the film industry.

We're looking for the next group of committed, talented young people between the age of 16 and 19 to be part of the BFI Film Academy 2015/16 Network Programme delivered by the Barbican.

The course takes place on weekends and also Wednesday evenings starting from Saturday 17 October 2015.

As BFI Film Academy participants you'll:
-Work with filmmakers to make your own short film.
- Learn skills from professionals in workshops.
-Take part in a series of masterclasses with industry experts giving insights into how to get in to and succeed in the film industry.
- Get practice in developing and pitching your own ideas
- Receive a free pass to the Focus Film Festival: see films and attend events with filmmaking professionals.
- Have the opportunity to progress further and apply for regional intensive workshops and the National Film and Television School Residential Talent Campus.

Participants will work towards a NCFE qualification – Preparing to Work in the Film Industry.
