Barbican/Guildhall Creative Learning is offering the Pit Theatre free of charge as a venue to artists, performers and facilitators as an incubator for creative work, experimentation and realising of ideas. We want to support emerging artists in the early stages of development. There is no emphasis on a final ‘product’; this is about providing a space for fresh talent to explore new ideas.
The Pit Theatre is a flexible ‘black box’ space which is a perfect venue for R&D, workshops, performances and other events involving a wide range of artistic media. Artists from all disciplines are encouraged to apply for one or two weekly slots.
We welcome projects with bold but realistic objectives which:
* show visionary artistic leadership * push artistic boundaries * utilise technology in an innovative way * research & develop new practices for collaborative work across art forms
This offer will be for certain weeks during the year and anyone wishing to apply will be asked to submit a proposal.
