Film Truck Showing a programme of short films for ages 5+ in
Family Film Truck during the day, while Saturday night visitors to
LATES Film Truck can watch true-life stories brought to the Barbican by the
East End Film Festival .
Saturday LATE Expect a festival of social games and playful experiences as
Hide and Seek recreate their monthly gaming event the
‘Sandpit’ in and around our foyers.
Prick Your Finger will help you sort out your glitches and dropped stitches at the
Knitting SOS you can
design jewellery visit the
LATES Film Truck or just chill out in the
LATES Lounge. Le Corbusier Be inspired by the life of Le Corbusier, widely acclaimed as the first guru-architect. Build Corbusier
sandcastles ,
make and race a means of travel, or take a
tour of the Barbican estate. On Saturday the Barbican Art Gallery presents
A Day in the Life of Le Corbusier inviting a host of special guests — architects, artists, critics, designers and others — to present their own take on a day in his life, beginning in the morning with exercise and breakfast and running late into the night with music and spectacle.
Xenakis Saturday is the BBC Symphony Orchestra’s Xenakis Total Immersion Composer Day. As well as concerts, films and a talk, you can explore his work by playing giant
Snakes and Ladders to make a new piece of music, or help create a huge
glissando.
Festival Finale Sunday brings a feast of music and dance. Follow a magical performance by
The Bellboys or watch high energy hip hop from
Boy Blue on the foyers. Learn the
ukulele , explore the magical sounds of the
Balinese gamelan at LSO St. Luke’s, improve your playing at the
Guildhall School Connect Clinic or make more noise at
Drum Down Sunday. For the grand finale, we invite you to break out some moves at the
World Disco for Kids, and join us as the festival finishes with spectacular
live drumming across the foyers.
