My First Panto
My first memories of pantomime are quite bizarre. Anxiously standing on the side of the stage at the Wimbledon Theatre, I was waiting for my cue to go on to dance with the Emperor of Peking, in the famous pantomime Aladdin. I was only three years old! I did pantomime every year after that until I was sixteen so you’d think I had never seen one but as a treat when it was our night off we went to see the performance. I remember being even more overwhelmed watching it than I was being in it. The music, the dancers, the booing and hissing at the baddy and of course, the happy ending.
